| EXAMPLE CUTLERY MANUFATURE PROCESSESCarving Fork Manafacture

The fork begins as a round bar of stainless steel. Initially, the ‘tang’ is stamped out.

The fork is heated in the furnace prior to being ‘drop forged’. Sixteen forging processes create the carving fork ‘blank’.

The forged blank, guard and spring will combine to make the carving fork.

The carving fork is then ‘ground’, ‘glazed’, ‘buffed’ and ‘polished’.

The spring is inserted and the protective guard riveted in place.

The finished Carving Fork is now ready for the handle of your choice.
